Ksenia toured Canada, the US and Europe as a professional dancer from classical ballet to tap to jazz and then contemporary dance (The Nutcracker, CATS, TOUCH, Rock-it!). She still performs as an actor, but her pointe shoe days have been traded in for trainers and sharing body knowledge.
Certified Personal Training Specialist with certified specialties in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, HIIT, Pilates, Postural Assessment, Power Yoga, Practical Nutrition, Prenatal + Post Partum Corrective Exercise and Lower Back Disorders: Evidence Based Prevention and Rehabilitation. Inducted into the Golden Key International Honours Society. Currently, Ksenia is on-going her study of movement approaches to support the hormonal cycle of menstruation, Iyengar Yoga for Motherhood and Running For Womxn. As a self-professed nerd, learning truly never stops for her.
Ksenia’s wish is for La Technique to be an evidence-based in-depth resource for the hormonal health of womxn, menstruaters + birthers.
Though Ksenia is whyte and is currently studying womxns’ bodies, cultivating a body positive safe space for the BIPOC community as well as the LGBTQIA2 community is important to her.
ALL ARE ALWAYS WELCOME in her ‘room’.
La Technique emerged organically from combining decades spent training as a professional classical dancer with countless years spent body conditioning at the gym for artistic performance contracts + marathon racing.
Having grown-up with an Iyengar Yoga teacher as a mum and then beginning classical RAD ballet training at the age of 4, the body has always fascinated Ksenia. As a professional performing artist, she had to learn how to properly train her body in order to keep it at a peak level for artistic contracts. From there, colleagues approached her to personally train them; to make herself legit, Ksenia retained her certification as a personal trainer.
At the root, Ksenia is a body nerd who loves to move and thrives on sharing the knowledge she’s gathered. Applying what she continually learns about biomechanics, functional movement and neural plasticity to encourage full range of motion with age is her jam.
